Timothy fell to the ground, staring at the rose that stuck out of his chest. Well, it wasn't exactly a rose, but it certainly looked like one. The knight could feel his vision fading, and wondered why he had been so careless. Above him, he could make out three forms walking toward his body. Timothy tried to reach for his sword, but he felt as if he were falling. Blackness overcame him, and death took the brave Guardian of Atrin.
(OOC: Make of this what you will. I'm relying on you! And please note that the title is completely irrelevant.)

(OOC: Good, then I shall).
Haindal looked down at the corpse that lay under him. “Yes, he got what he deserved.” He pulled the longbow arrow out of the body. “On more Atrinin dead.” He pulled the arrow against his bowstring, and let fly another arrow of death. “The bow that never misses,” he said, almost lovingly. “Reinar will have a fine fight today.” With that, he drew his broad sword and advanced into the battle, determined to bring glory to his house.

o.o.c. Hmm
Coshin drew his two rapiers and rushed towards the man who just drew his broadsword. He stopped 5 paces away from him. "Come get me you bastard!" he shouted. His grief for his fallen friend bubbled up and almost made him break down right there. He suppresed the urge to cry and stood in a defensive position waiting for the man.

((OOC: Dude, this is fun.))
Clothed in the skin of an eagle, Grisner gazed down at the two men fighting below him. No, neither of them was the man he was searching for. Damn that San Halider. There was no way that the holy knight could be allowed to sway this battle. That was Grisner's job.

Haindal Fought the man in front of him ferociously, swing broadsword back and forth, trying to hack him to pieces. It wasn’t working. D**n it! The broadsword ought to shatter any lesser sword, but it seemed to fail against him. And it was tiring. The sword was almost five feet in length, and of no bad quality steel either. But he still believed he would win. He had never lost one yet...

Coshin's blades were darting to and fro trying to get past the man's defenses. No matter how fast he used his rapiers the man's huge clumsy broadsword was alwasy there to block his. Coshin was tireing from fighting the man and tireing of this fight that would probably not end until one dies from exhaustion. I can't stop now, Coshin thought, I must avenge Timothy even if it kills me

San Halider stood atop a small hill, brown cloak flapping in the wind around him. Grisner flew down toward him, throwing caution aside and moving toward a direct confrontation. After all, it could only end in his advantage. He had proved years ago that he was more powerful than his brother. And if he needed to, he would prove it again.

Haindal Fought as no normal man could have fought, hacking and slashing and parrying. He was distracted, though, by a man flying across the field. He gaped. An eagle, actually, it appeared. But what was an eagle doing flying over this battle? The other man just seemed to press his advantage, though. Haindal fought harder, but he was gasping for breath now, air coming in great sticky sobs. This sword was so gods d**med heavy. He panted and struggled on. Victory would come, as it so always had for him...

Coshin saw an opening and quickly jabbed with his left rapier. As the blade flew towards flesh time seamed to slow down like everying was moving through jelly. Just as he though he had the guy he felt steel sink into his right side. He could feel feel every millimeter of steel sinking in. Suddenly time lurched forward and Coshin saw through narrow vision on the ground the body of his dead friend Timothy. I'm sorry Timothy. I have failed you....

Grisner landed beside his brother, and changed into the guise of a human. His human body was well-muscled, which was not saying a lot when the strength of a Sky Lord was considered. But while humans were unnaturally weak without clothing, they still managed to cause more chaos on the earth than any other creature. San Halider looked up at Grisner in surprise, with a measure of fear in his eyes. But the young Sky Lord quickly regained his composure, and reached for the sword hanging at his side.

He had finally won. That madman had died, but not after tiring him to the point of death. He touched on the Source, and relieved himself with a little bit of its life-giving properties. He felt better. Granted, there was still the mystery of that eagle... Never mind that. It seemed gone now. All he knew was that this ought to be far easier from now on. He touched on the Source again, to make his sword a little lighter. He ought to remember that for every battle. Never mind that now. He would win this battle, and his house would become the most favored in the kingdom...

The battle was quick. San Halider's sword swept forward to strike Grisner, but it did not meet the Air Lord's flesh. A stone rod appeared in Grisner's hands, and Air-forged Steel could not stand against the dark sorcery of the Earth Lords. Too late to save his life, San Halider realized the extent of his brother's treachery. In one final attempt to take control of the battle, San Halider sent a shining, silvery beacon up to the clouds, to the other Air Lords. Grisner thrust his rod into San Halider's chest, and twisted the weapon. Blood spilled out, and the younger Air Lord slumped to the ground, dead. "You never were good at sorcery, brother," Grisner whispered. He stared up at the clouds, and the silvery light that now shone in the sky. The Air Lords would come. But they would be too late to stop what Grisner had planned.

The melee abruptly stopped. Every man just stopped what he was doing and looked up in the air, where a silver object hung in the air. Haindal himself had heard tales of this kind of thing, but never seen it before. Like a comet or a new star, it was said to be a foretelling of world changing times. He thought through his mind. What could it possibly be. An arrow landed beside him, vibrating in the ground, and snapping him back to reality. Even if the battle was stopped, dangers still abounded. He called to his men, “Men! That is a foretelling of Reinar’s victory! The day shall be ours!” He charged, renewing the melee.

o.o.c. This story really sounds like a bad anime
Nathar heard the shout of the man with the huge sword. I'm getting too old to fight. I get distracted too much the grizzled man thought. He gripped his simple sword and charged back into the battle slicing off arms here, stabbing sides there. No matter how many men he killed they still kepted on coming.

I would like to revive this old topic. It was a good thread until no one replied anymore.
