I was just watching the news and saw that the U.S-elections are comming up rather fast. Since I'm quite interested in foreign politicts I would like to hear you opinion on this matter: Bush should stay. Include pro's and con's in your reply so we can discuss them.

But Bush shouldn't stay. He's wrecked the economy. Everything Clinton did, Bush got rid of it and tried to make it "better". He should not stay for another term. He should shot and killed. But that is me.

I am rather biased against Bush, so I'm not sure how fair this will be, but here goes nothing (nothing refering to an attempt at an objective analysis).
Points for Bush:
While the economy crashed under him, it seems to be recovering.
He did topple two oppresive regimes that we about as bad as they could get.
He has captured some terrorists.
He did ensure no terrorist attacks after 9/11 occured.
He did provide for major tax cuts that have returned some money to the people.
He took action against terrorism as quickly as he could.
Points against:
His tax cuts have also robbed education, healthcare, and other agendas of funds.
Many of the suspected terrorists we have captured are being held illegally and contrary to the Geneva Convention, and others.
His attempts at halting domestic terrorism have resulted in a step closer to "1984"; Increased surveilance, robbing of civil liberties in the name of aiding the war.
The economy crashed under him, and job loss has been acute throughout the US.
Most of the money saved by the tax cuts went to the top 1% richest Americans.
Both of the countries he "liberated" are now in shambles, worse than they were due to the wars.
By his unilateral actions against terrorism without trying to seek UN approval, he has very much tarnished US reputation abroad and created a new breeding ground for terrorists.

<rant> I hate the US's reputation. We are like the World Police. We always have to go and break up wars and help other countries with problems that we also face. Like AIDs. We have AIDs here in the U.S. and Bush sends 40 BILLION DOLLARS to an African country for AIDs relief. What about us? Wouldn't it be better to help ourselves first so we are able to help to help other people? If he used that money for AIDs research HERE, we might be able to find a cure faster to help us and other countries. </rant>

To us(read:rest of the world) the U.S acts like some sort of Global Security Agency. They meddle in all foreign affairs. The U.S profile themselves as the guardians of the world. I think they should not stick their noses in problems that are not theirs.

Exactly! We should keep to us and our direct allies and not go over to other countries to know what they are doing.

We do not need to invade anyone, do not need to militarily invade someone, what needs doing is working together with the entire world to raise the developing countries to a decent standard of living, and then focus on technological advancment, then focus on space exploration and expansion. Only if we expand to space may society survive the inevitable decline of civilization and rotting out from the core that plagues the entire history of the earth.

I agree with Bob about the space-exploration(and thus exploitation) point.
I agree on that one too, but thats not the way things are going now. Ï don't like the:"Surender too our will or else we will invade you" attitude.
