Well, I'm trying to prod more life into this board, so.... Basically how it works is somone posts ten questions, keeping them relatively easy, because these are supposed to test knowledge, not reasearching ability, they post ten questions, and the people who wish to respond reply in a Private Message, answering the questions in the PM. The person that got the high score gets to ask the next set of ten. (This is based on one from another forum.) Is anyone interested? If so, answer the below in a PM. (They should be easy). Note that questions can have a theme or be totally random. 1. What was the operation name for the D-Day landings in WW2? 2. Name the three main powers of the Axis in World War 2. 3. Name the power that joined World War One in 1915 on the Allied side and mainly fought only against Austria. 4. Name the bomber that delivered the first A-Bomb to its target. 5. In what year was Louisiana purchased from France by the United States? 6. Who originally owned the colony of New York, and what was it originally named? 7. What was the biggest empire in history? 8. What was the second independant nation in the Americas (be careful...)? 9. What were the two only independant nations in Africa by World War One? 10. What nation had the largest navy on earth in 1400? If you don't know many, just take a guess. Have fun. I hope to see a few replies. I'll post the results as they come, so you know your score. If you get 0 right, then I won't post it, so don't let shame keep you back! Give it a try! REMEMBER TO ANSWER IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GIVE OTHERS THE ANSWERS.

Since I got all the response I expected (Silvion, Temanin, and Tony), we will move along. Here are the answers: 1. What was the operation name for the D-Day landings in WW2? Operation Overlord 2. Name the three main powers of the Axis in World War 2. Italy, Germany, and Japan 3. Name the power that joined World War One in 1915 on the Allied side and mainly fought only against Austria. Italy 4. Name the bomber that delivered the first A-Bomb to its target. Enola Gay 5. In what year was Louisiana purchased from France by the United States? 1803 6. Who originally owned the colony of New York, and what was it originally named? The Netherlands, who named it Neiw (New) Amsterdam 7. What was the biggest empire in history? The British Empire. The Mongol Empire was biggest if you only count contigous land area, and the Roman Empire was not biggest, they lagged behind the Mulsim Caliphate, Mongols, British, Canada, Russia, Russian Empire, Soviet Union, PRC, Qing China, etc. 8. What was the second independant nation in the Americas (be careful...)? Haiti... It was formed by a slave rebellion by Touissant Le'Overture against Napoleanic France in 1804 or thereabouts. 9. What were the two only independant nations in Africa by World War One? Liberia (place for freed American slaves. protected by America), and Ethiopia (Which defeated an Itlain invasioin in 1898). 10. What nation had the largest navy on earth in 1400? No one got this right... It was China! This was around the prime of the Ming treasure fleets when China had fleets of thousands of ships, some over 400 feet in length and nine masted! Temanin had the high score with 7.5, so it is his turn to ask the questions. Remember Temanin, they can be themed or completely random, it is up to you.

Too late. Sorry, I opted for speed over quality. This is what I came up with in roughly 5-10 minutes. Sorry. I guess I'll just have to win another one and put some time into it.
1. Who fought in the shortest war in recorded history, and how long was it?
2. What was the first novel ever written on a typewriter?
3. How long was the Hundred Years War?
4. What king ruled France for only 15 minutes?
5. What is the longest name is the Hebrew Scriptures? ((Sort of a history question. Either way, I like it!))
6. In what year was toilet paper invented?
7. What queen bathed only twice in her life?
8. What is so unique about Roman statues?
9. Who actually invented the telephone, as confirmed by the US Congress?
10. Approximately when did the Battle of Badon Hill take place?
