I don't know how to start this.
All I really want to say is that God isn't an all powerful being that created the heavens and the earth. He/she is but a being with technology so advance we see it as supernatural and think he/she is the ruler of the universe.

I personally don't believe the theory, but being a "supernatural enthusiast" (meaning, geek), I've found some websites that examine and talk about the theory. Here's one of 'em: www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/7131/

Why not? Give reasons to your reply.

I am a semi believer in that I think that everything posesses a consciousness that may extend to the point of being a soul. My faith is not founded on god but on the divinity of all living beings, and it is based from a logical observation of the universe. So... Can't accept your theory, nope.

What are some examples of these events that are created by technology so advanced that we see it as divine action? Where would this being exist? And where, then, did the universe come from?

*uses a lame reference*
In Star Treck:Next Gen, Picard's crew finds a planet that has an early form of vulcan/romulans. One of them accidently finds out Picard isn't one of them. With the Federation technology the vulcan/romulans start worshipping Picard and think he is a god.

I really don't know what to believe. I do know that I don't really believe that there is a "God" as the Christians see it. And while I believe that Jesus was a real person, I don't believe that he was this God's son. I see no concrete evidence, and the fact that my ancestors all believed in this God just doesn't do it for me. Perhaps there is a higher being and I'm going to this "hell" one day soon, and if that's the case I'll fall on my knees and beg-beg-beg for salvation for entirety of eternity. But until then...
I do believe in the simple idea that people should be good to one another and accepting of one another's beliefs in order to retain some semblence of balance in our world.. But few enough seem to agree with me.

I agree with you.
I am agnostic, so it's not like I don't believe that there may be a superbeing out there that created out pitiful reality. I'm just saying, I think that some religions may have started this way. For all we know, maybe those beings were conducted experiments and wanted to see if they could form a religion through their presence to a bunch of stupid people.

I can't say I believe this, but here I go:
Since I have studied the bible<as in: read it several times carefully> I think I know what I'm talking about. In the bible I came upon a passage written by Marcus( I thought it was Marcus anyway, to lazy to look it up), he is actually talking about being lifted up by angels in a ship and being brought before God's holy throne. He talks about"Seeing the earth's GLOBE!!! dissapear below him"and "The Universe unfolding". This supports Tony's theory. Also, if you read the Mozes-passages you notice that the 10 comandments just "Fall out of the sky, letters burned on 10 slate tiles". Bit weird isn't it? Also the story about how the Irealites where lead out of Isreal following a "Burning Pillar"at the Horizon.
Ive read the Koran and some other holy books aswell and they all contain stiff like this. Well, snce "Modern"society has never winessed such things I think its a bit naive to just put them as "Divine Intervention", don't ya think?
Anyways, just my 2 cents!

That's exactly what I'm talking about. These divine interventions are nothing more than advance beings.
A possibility on all the names for God could be that the being in charge on it's vessel had different names. So the people that that God had multiple names, not that there were multiple people.
Now, I want to bring something else up with this. In Genesis it says that God creates man in his own image. Genetic manipulation anyone? You take the Neanderthals that were all ready on the planet and give them a boost of intelligence and make them look a bit more better looking.
Eden could possibly be a test area where these beings released us to see how we would react to the enviroment. After seeing that we could survice, they 'banished' us and stuck us on Earth.

AAAAAAA
I remember now.
Listen up:
After some exploration and watching some great documentary's a guy made a documentary of his own. He's been supported by many scientists around the world. Itrw as about the birthing place of human-civilization: The Oeral-Delta( Sumerie, nowadays Irak). Scientists found out that the mythological Eden was located there. Furthermore, on ancient Sumerian tablets there where found enscriotions with the name E-Den on it. On the tablets was told a tale of "Fathers"who came from the heavens to mate with humans in order to make "Angelic beings, shaped into their fashion" The "Fathers"where shown as huge male-figures with long beards, 2 times as tall as men and "Aura's"around their heads. They travelled in "Flying carriages". Its really fascinating how Human- Civilization emerged on that spot. Combine it with those ancient Sumerian Tableds and I am frankly a bit scared og the conclusiuon.
Forgive me for my many typo's but I am just to ethousiastic tio type normal!

Wow, that's interesting. These beings could have mated with us because they needed to preserve some aspect of them. That, or they felt really horny and we were the only things closest to them that they could screw.

Possibly, but I am not shitting you guys. It was a documentary on National Geographic supported by numerous scientists, which doesn't make it true offcourse. But its a possibility nonetheless. I think its much more plausible then that God made Adam out of his rib, eh?

Eve was formed from the rib of Adam. Adam was formed from the dust of the earth. Just so no one's confused.

Yeah, you are right. Plausibility-degree even lessened by the clarification.
