The title of this thread is the title of the next and last book of The Wheel of Time. It will be a sad day in High Fantasy literature when the Wheel of Time is completed and Robert Jordan will write about something else.

Is that the official title, now? I knew it was the working title. Hmm. Well, he seems to like his next series...so maybe we will, too.

I thought I heard that he was working on a movie script of some kind before the last book. Maybe he's doing both.
And he will not stop writing Wheel of Time books entirely. We still have two prequals he promised us.

Some studio picked up the rights to make a movie on The Eye of The World, he may be working on a script for that.

*twitch* I'm invoking my rights to post in whatever thread I want, disregarding thread necromancy rules. Uphold to rules or encourage activity.
So, anywho, this book isn't going to be released until 2008. That's freaking insane. Even I could write a book in three years. Consider, also, the fact that his profession is: author. Gah. Surely he knows how the book will end, what's taking so long?
Actually...I'm just horribly impatient.s

I don't mind. This board isn't that active anyway, so what's the harm?
I think he wants to take his time. This is, you know, his last big Wheel of Time novel. He said it was going to be somewhere around 2000 pages long (OMFG!). And if you remember, he was sick for awhile. That puts a damper on writing a book.

A few good points. He said it'll be 2000+ pages if it has to be in order to finish in one book. That would be quite awesome, as I always seem to rush through WoT in a few days. It's a little harder to ruch two thousand pages. And I completely forgot about that whole "almost dying" thing.
But I think you hit the proverbial nail on the head. He wants to take his time. Milk WoT for all its worth. He probably knows that his fan base will drop a little after the series is finished, as there will be some who won't like the ending.

I think he may also want to make it good. If you remember Winter's Heart and Crossroads of Twilight, *shudders*, they were not very good. I liked Knife of Dreams. I thought it brought the series up with that book. So for his final book, he'll want it to peak in greatness.
I'm going to make a chart on how good the books were using asterisks. It's on a five point scale. 5 is great and 1 is horrible.

The first three rocked. The middle 'uns were "meh". Winter's Heart was tolerable. CoT was utterly boring. I liked Knife of Dreams alot, but maybe that's because of the poor quality of the book before. Massive Trolloc and Seanchan death will always entertain me.
So, what are you biggest hopes for the final book? What do you want to see happen?

I don't really know. I just want it to be good. I want it to have a good ending, unlike Stephen King's ending with The Dark Tower.

I never got to finish The Dark tower...I just noticed that too, th affiliates table is missing I would care to guess that it means the forum is die-ing.......more so then usual.

My guess is that www.zanmato.com/script/affiliate/affiliatev4.js no longer exists, which is what was driving the affiliate table. A shame, that. If need be, I have a replacement code that's just about the same. We'll wait to see what happens, first. I just found out that it took, like, 35 years for the Dark Tower series to go from beginning to end. Now that's a long time to wait. I'm no longer so upset with Jordan. ^^

Zanmato removed all their scrips off the site, that is why the Affiliate Table no longer worked. But if you have one that is similar to the one they used, they would be great. I really dislike this new one and want to get rid of it.
And we have fewer Affiliate because all the other sites did not have our minni banner.
Yes, it did take a long time for the series to finish. He decided he wanted it done so he finished up book 6 and 7 before doing anything else.
