Tony was asking me about a topic on my mothers sayiongs. And I decided that this was the best place for it(in my own section).
I will start off with:
"Achter het net vissen" Literally it means"fishing behind the nets"
People use it in similair situations: There is a great sale at your nearby mall. All WoT books are now $5. You run to the mall only to see the last WoT book disappear in someone elses backpack. An employee puts down a sign that says"out of stock".

"Beter 1 vogel in de hand dan 10 in de lucht" translated"Better to have 1 bird in your hand then 10 in the air". It means that you should be happy with what youve got.

"Hoge bomen vangen veel wind" translated:"High trees catch much wind". Example: Israeli soldiers fire at civilians, it reaches the press and Shirac catches the blame.

"Een gegeven paard in de bek kijken"translated" To look into a given horses mouth" means: If you get a present, be happy with it.

Because Silvion can put it there.
My mom says one a lot and it annoys me. Here it is,
"Well! I never had that when I was your age."
I tell her,
"That was then, this is now. The times have changed mom."
