So, yeah. Bob bought me the first book in the series for my birthday that was back in November. I'm getting towards the end of it. So far, the series is okay. I prefer the WoT over aSoIaF. But the thing I like about SoIaF is that the armor there is a lot like our armor was in our past. Most of the armor in WoT are just breast plates and helms.

I'm not sure which is better. I haven't finished the series yet, or what's written of it anyway, so that may have something to do with it. So...Go Starks!

I also like and dislike that he kills off main characters. This leads to the book being more real, but it angers you that they are killed. Especially if you grow attached to them.

Well that is just proof about how well it is writen, IMHO it makes it better that way, the more emotions you feel at a characters death, makes it more enjoyable to read.
I've only had the time to read afew chapters, I looked into it after victor told me about it.

I like what little I've read of it.
