I went and saw the first showing tonight. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. There were a few things left out and added, but over all I enjoyed it. I recommend that you watch it, even if you don't think it will be good.

I plan on it, even though it got sucky reviews, especially on Rotten Tomatoes. 16%. That's bad.

I have to state one thing, and I don't really care if I get flamed for it or not. Put a bullet into the head of the director. And then burn the film and books. - Random Jester

You do realize the novel is just a work of fiction? I don't think I've seen so much hatred aimed at one book. It is sad to see that people still fear literature even at such a 'modern' time as it is now.

Thank you, Tony. Anyone ignorant enough to bash this book, or any other for that matter, is just that: ignorant. It's fiction. I think I've established myself here as a religious fellow, and I loved the book, as well as Angels and Demons, and I look forward to seeing the movie. People just need to grow up.
I could continue, but I shall refrain. I'll go see the movie eventually.
P.S. How could you shoot Ron Howard?! Poor Opie...

Wait . . . I didn't know you were "a religious fellow".
The biggest question I would like to ask radical Christian groups is, why couldn't any of this be possible? Why couldn't Jesus have a wife? Why couldn't they have conceived a child together? Why couldn't descendants of Jesus still be alive today? And more importantly, why couldn't Jesus have been just a man? Not the son of God, just a man.
In the book Dan Brown says that Constantine organized a group to pick and choose which books got in the Bible. That actually happened. Books were decided if they were able to get into the Bible or not. One of the biggest requirements was that the book could not have any angels in it with a name. Constantine thought that people should worship God only, not any of his angels. Some of them he had to include, though, like Gabriel. But this event did happen and Christians are mad because they are learning the truth about their religion from its early stages.
Just as a side note, why have Christians broken the sixth Commandment so many times all in the "name of God"? Don't you think God would rather have you not kill people than kill them?

..you do know I said that just to piss people off right? I really didn't mean anything by it, I have to say it's a interesting work of complete fiction and one thing I will say good about it, it has made history alittle more interesting to those that thought it dull.
Pissing people off is like a hobby to me, I do it just to watch how people re-act and it makes me laugh to see people blow up. I really didn't mean anything by it. I enjoy coldly calculate-ing peoples re-actions mentaly and then testing that by introduce-ing actions that show me how they react. To be honest I didn't quite expect that reaction of tem, but it wasn't far off from what I expected. Tony on the other hand, you held out wonderfully I have to say you are a hard person to make mad.

It actually depends on the situation for how long it takes for me to get mad. I wasn't mad in the above post, just kind of annoyed. I don't understand why people can't just keep their religion to themselves instead of flaunting it and being offended at every little slight at their choice religion.

Heh. Children, you haven't seem me angry. I was simply stating that I think such an attitude as the one you pretended to above is ignorant in nature. T'wasn't anger, it was simply my thoughts.
Oh, and Constantine's Council of Nicea in 325 AD did not determine the current contents of the Bible. A common misconception, don't worry about it.
*laughs head off over this comment*

I think regardless of the subject of the book, it's just a work of fiction. There may be some fallacies in it, but I think it should be enjoyed as a work of fiction and not over-examined. I'm sure Dan Brown didn't want to rock your faith, he just thought it'd make an interesting and controversial topic for his fiction thriller. In a few of my classes outraged Christians have gotten into arguements about how this book is the work of the devil etc. etc. It's kind of amusing almost. My friend's grandma is a Mormon and they were told not to read this book because it's bad. I really do find that amusing.

Everyone's over-sensitive, Tony, be they Christian, Muslim, Democrat, Mexican, etc. Blah-blah. And I don't know if I would say he didn't write it to shake things up. I would say that was his driving force, but no, he didn't write it to topple the foundations of Christianity. He just wanted to present the information he stole from other books. XP Again, I totally agree with you that people are seriously overracting.
