This is a serious problem with today's gamers. When gamers get really into a game or play they play the game for long periods of time, they get what is known as Game Brain. That is, when they try and go to sleep and close their eyes, they see the game that they had been playing. Getting this Game Brain takes up to hours to fade away and leaves your body exhausted.
How can we counteract this deadly effect? Does every gamer get it? And how often does this happen?

....well I can honestly say your not making that up, although the name for it I'm not sure, of. BUT you can't say it's just video games, that can happen with books, movies and tv.

I have never heard of it happening with books, movies, and TV. I've only had it happen to me with video games.

The thing is, the brain will produce a similar effect on most other stimuli. Optical stimulus even more so. And it just so happens that the most addictive optical stimulus can be garnered from playing video/computer games. And so your Game Brain is born.
Have it all the time. ^^
No way to counter it that I know of, except occupying your mind with something else; i.e. another game.

For me I run strategies to win battles in RTS games over and over and over in my head until I finally get exhausted and fall asleep =/
