This thread needs a bump. Out of those I'd probably vote for Hillary just because she's the only one remotely capable of leading the country. Although, I'd rather not have her for president if I can help it. If she runs though, I think people will just vote for her either A) Because she's a woman or B) To see the first female president.

I don't get the difference between A and B here. They'd vote because she's a woman so that she'll be the first female president.

Anyhow, I've read up on her a bit in contemplation of this thread and I like some of her policies. I haven't even heard of the last two Democrats (because I'm so politically-minded don't you know..) and I didn't bother reading the Republican list.

A is because of all the "omg glass ceiling" bullshit, and B is because the first woman president in America is going to be a landmark event; they want to be alive when it happens. You could say they're like jelly and napalm, alike and yet horribly horribly different.

Oh, I didn't think of it terms of the "landmark event" issue. That makes sense. Mostly unrelated: my 8th grade English teacher told me I could be the first woman president. Of course, she also told this to three other girls....

You should go for it. I wouldn't mind running for president myself. I think I could do a fairly good job of it.
