I like The Eye of the World because it is the first one. And I also like Crossroads of Twilight.

I liked "The Dragon Reborn" best because it was, in my memory, the first book with Mat as a viewpoint character. And then there's the fact that there was a lot more action than in any of the books that came before it. Finding out more about the Prophecies of the Dragon was one of the best parts of the book, and the ending battle was awesome.

i dunno, the eye of the world was excellent, i mean, everything about was awesome. Heck, even the prologue was sweet. I reeeeeaaaally didn't like crossroads of twilight because it had a boring prologue about 95 pages long, and most of the book was spent at the exact same fricken time, talking about the exact same frickin thing, and it didn't progress from Winter's Heart at ALL until near the end. I would have to say the Fifth book was my favorite though, i just can't remember WHY i liked it so much...I'll have to read em all again

I liked The Eye of the World best because everything in it was new, including the writing style. I also think that after book four or five they start going down hill. Don't get me wrong, I still love the books, otherwise I wouldn't be on this site. I just think Robert Jordan's writing style lessened after book four or five.

First let me repeat, I still liked them. I just felt that it started getting a little repetitive. In each book, Rand gets more followers, goes a little more insane, and kills another forsaken. Perrin is off obsessing over his wife since book...5 I think it is. Then we have Mat, who probably has the most going on of any of the three taveren, and he is hardly put in the books.

Quibly didn´t say he doesn´t like the books, but he thinks Rj´s writing style has changed somewhat, and not for the better. Personnaly I don+t think his writing style has changed. The last books are just more political then the first books)lots off talk from Rand, Egwene and Elayne about ruling nations and such).

Actually I think his writing style hasn't changed, at all, and that is what I don't like. I know that isn't what I said at first, but thinking about it, that is what I meant. Ussually when I read a series, I expect the authors writing style to progress, because the more you write, the better you get. However, I think Robert Jordan's writing style hasn't progressed at all. He seems, to me, to just be not progressing the story. Books 5-8 had Rand chasing after Forsaken, while he progresses towards insanity. It was the same thing in each book, and it got old. But I still liked them, and therefore read them.
hey!

That is fine, I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, I'm just stating what I believed.

New Spring showed that he hasn't turned a blind eye toward what made the novels interesting. It gripped me like The Dragon Reborn did - and in my case, that's saying something.
