Zak sat lazily under an oak tree watching the countryside. There was not much work to do around the house so he was allowed to wander off. Thoughts went through Zak's mind as he was sitting, stareing blankly at nothing. He was having a dream that came back every night. It had been going on for some weeks now. He would have told his parents about it, but they might have been more afraid of Zak then what went on in his dream.
The dream started the same way every night. He would be in a dense forest running from...something. Something that wanted him dead and would do anything to see it done. Then while Zak would be running away he would see a wolf join him in running. Then another, then another untill there was 12 including him. That wasn't the oddest part of the dream. After there were a total of 12, Zak would slowly start turning into a wolf himself. First he would run on all fours, then he would grow fur, a muzle, tail, ect., until he was a wolf. After that they would stop and start pursuing the something that was originally chasing Zak. They would almost upon it when he would suddenly wake up. He never finished the dream, but each night he would get closer and closer to that something. He knew he would see what it was one night, but was unsure which night it would be....

Zak stood in the middle of his farm. It was noon, but there seemed to be no activity on the farm. Usually around noon the farm was bustling. His little brothers and sisters would be doing chores, his dad and his unlce would be tending the crops waiting for Zak to arrive, and his mom and aunt would be cooking and baking in the kitchen.
Zak went into the house, but didn't see his mom or aunt. He checked the barn, chicken coop, sheep pen, fields, even the outhouse! But no one was there. While Zak was pondering where everyone was, he felt unseen eyes on his back. He quickly turned and stumbled as a foot got caught in a root. He landed face first into the ground. He brought his head up and stared right into the eyes of a grey wolf. Young One, what are you doing here? the wolf asked Zak. He didn't hear words come from the wolve's mouth. It was sorta of like a thought that came into his head. "What do you mean Here?" Zak asked the wolf. The wold replied with a short answer, Tel'aran'rhiod, the World of Dreams. Zak lay there confused. He felt his body being pulled from...somewhere. He looked at his hand and it was fading out. "What happening?!" Zak shouted to the wolf. The wolf just stared at him like he was a rock. In the next instant Zak was staring at the roof of his house in his room. "It was all just a dream," Zak muttered to himself and went back to sleep.

Zak was in his same dream again. The one where he was chasing something. But this time was different. He didn't change into a wolf. He had a spear clutched in his hand and he was running with the same wolves. He knew he was gaing on...whatever it was. He could see shadowy shapes ahead, running away from Zak. He ran faster and faster and he could see the shape cleary. It was...a....TROLLOC! Zak gripped his spear, jumped, and planted it firmly in the back of the Trolloc. Zak stared at the dying shape, anger boiling up. For some reason Zak knew that the Trolloc did something. Did something to change is life forever. He looked at the wolfs who helped him with his hunt and one spoke....It is time...wolfbrother.
Zak shot up out of bed like someone dumped cold water all over him. He looked around and everything was the same. He got out of bed and put on some clothes. He half slep-walked into the kitched rubbing his eyes. His mom and aunt were baking. "Good morning sleepyhead," his mom said. "What time is it?" Zak asked through the thickness of sleep. "You should have been out of bed hours ago," His aunt told him firmly with a sniff, "We tried to wake you, but it would be better to wake the dead than you." "Shush Beth!" his mother said and turned to Zak, "Were you having a nightmare? We heard you thrashing in your sleep like you were running." Zak stared at his mother a moment and said slowly and deliberatly, "No....I...don't think so." His aunt sniffed again and went back kneading the dough. Zak ate some leftovers from breakfast and walked out into the light. He squinted from the sudden light and turned around a few times. After his eyes adjusted he walked over to the barn where his dad and unlce were tending the milking cows. "Need any help?" Zak asked. His uncle glanced at him, but his dad was more sympathetic. "You could bring hay down from the...loft..." His dad stoped speaking and stared...right into Zak's eyes. "Zak, are you okay?" his dad asked worried. He gripped his pitchfork that he was going to give Zak to work with, "Your eyes are different. Are you coming down with something boy?" Zak walked over to a barrel of water and looked at his reflection. What he saw in that barrel was nothing humane...it was wolf. His eyes were turning burnished gold and it was turning quickly...

"Thief!" Cara could hear in the background, as she ran along the rooftops of Caemlyn. It was close to dawn, she never stole this late.
She came to the outer wall of the city, quickly looked around for gaurds, and climbed down. She started running away from the city, hoping to find a place to stash her things.
As the sun crept up the horizon, she stashed her bag up a tree, and started towards a small farm, hoping to beg a place to sleep off the family that lived there. She hadn't slept in over three days.
