I just read the chapter, The Gray Man in The Dragon Reborn. Brief summary, Nynaeve and Egwene come back from the Amyrlin's study and almost get killed by a Soulless. Nynaeve traps him with Air, goes to see him, and find him stabbed. Then Sheriam comes down some stairs, find them and the Soulless and puts a dome of Air around the body. Egwene lies about getting a cloak to fetch the crossbow bolt that almost killed, to find it missing. She goes back and Sheriam tells them to go back to their rooms.
Now, what I want to discuss about Sherium is her being Black Ajah. Yes, Black Ajah. I'll type the passage so you understand what I'm talking about.
Page 189, paperback.
Egwene curtsied, and tugged at Nynaeve's sleeve, but Nynaeve said, "Why did you come up here, Sheriam Sedai?"
For a moment Sheriam looked startled, but on the instand she fronwed. Fists on hips, she regarded Nynave with all the firmness of her office. . .
There's that. And Nynave mentions later that Sheriam never asks why the Soulless is stabbed. So she could have stabbed the Soulless, got the crossbow, cirlced around and got the bolt, then put both objects somewhere and came down the stairs.
In all likelyhoo, it's impossible she did this alone. But some facts point out she may be Black Ajah or she had known about it beforehand.

I have to admit it does seems to put her in the black ajah but I will not believe it til comes true. Part of the reason I say this is she was the number one suporter of Egwene becoming the Amyrlin Seat and also at one point in the books during the time Egwene starts to really take control of the Hall Sheriam is confronted by a unknown person in her tent... She is beat by someone more powerful than her for not keeping her informed and control over Egwene.. Sheriam seems to be under the influence of another now weather this person is black ajah or just a power hungry Aes Sedai is yet to been seen.. Either way I do believe that Sheriam is good at heart just unable to defend herself from the evils that are surrounding the Aes Sedai.

Maybe Sheriam was instructed to support Egwene to become Amyrlin. I know if I were with the Shadow I would do the same. Make this person seem so powerful, but pull the rug out from underneath their feet and make them crash down.

I've finished all of them and throughout have noticed so many things that clearly point out that Sheriam is of the Black Ajah. I plan on making notes to myself as I reread them, there's just so much foreshadowing and stuff!

Because I'm too lazy to paraphrase, a link: Sheriam: Black or BluePersonally, I like that idea that she is just being used by, and not a member of, the Dark. I also like the very last thing they say there: Perhaps not true, but cool to think about, all the same.

It would be very sad indeed to find Sheriam to be a willing member of the black ajah, mainly becasue I have come to like her and think that she is good at heart, but it is as the wheel weaves.

Hey . . . Sheriam could be a forced Black sister through the thirteen Aes Sedai and thirteen Fades act. That is something I never thought about. It explains a lot to me.

Impossible to see the future is, but one thing is for certain many Aes Sedai will die.

Both the gray man in the tower and the two captured black sisters in Tear were killed by Slayer. He was fondly remembering doing both in book 4 while he and Perrin hunted each other. Also if you reread the last book there was a passage in it where Sheriem walks into her tent and was sheilded and blindfolded before she knew it and was beaten for failing to keep her abuser informed of what Egwene was up to. I think though that it was that woman that channels saidin.
