Thread Necromancy should only apply to threads locked an then re-opened by a mod or G-mod, also please move all threads that can not be posted on with out breaking Thread Necromancy rule, should be moved to the archives.

All threads that exceed 3 pages in a board are sent the Archives. The rest stay there to give an illusion. If you have a problem with the way we do things, then leave. But this is how we do things and this is how it shall be done.

So let it be written, so let it be done.
Thread Necromancy applies, as Tony said, to all threads resurrected after two weeks of inactivity. There would be no reason for a mod or gmod to unlock a thread after that given time anyway, thus your suggestion is null. If it remains locked for two weeks, then it falls inactive, just like all other threads. Only a post locked for disciplinary action can or will be unlocked and made available for public use once more.
A thread limit per board has been established in order that guests may see that the boards are active, as well as give a clear indication to the gmods and admins which boards are not being used. If every thread that was older than two weeks was moved to the archives, then most boards would have no more than two to three threads, total. If guests see numbers like three, seven, and four threads per board, they will not join. It is a simple fact.
It is also a good way to reference recent, i.e. within the past few months, threads. You know where they are, more or less. There is no organizational structure within the Archives. Because of this, searching for older threads becomes tedious.
The rules have been posted. No thread necromancy, followed by this board's definition of the term. One must abide by the rules if one wishes to remain here at this board. Complaining about your punishment will not result in it being changed, or the rules augmented in any way. We live and we learn, as they say.
