Far Madding has three ter'angreal. Two of them act like a stedding, and the other acts like a locater. One of the stedding ter'angreal stops a man channeling a fair distance from the city. The other stedding ter'angreal stops a woman channeling right before she crosses the bridge into the city. The last one consists of three circles with arrows on them. If the arrow turns red, a woman is channeling. If it turns black, a man in channeling. I don't know how it could detect that inside the city if it's an artificial stedding. I'm guessing that the ter'angreal just shows where someone is channeling in a certain distance from the city. Unless, of course, someone has a well. Then it would point to where they are in the city.
But my question is, how did the Aes Sedai make an artificial stedding? Did they use Ogier somehow to make it? How?

Who knows (except maybe RJ) many things were lost in the war of the hundered years as is so often stated in the books.

We don't even know how to make a real stedding, so how can we figure out how they made a fake one?
