It's The Ultimate Question, and I noticed there wasn't any thread dedicated to it on this forum. Oh well, there was, but it was closed alright, and I couldn't respond.
Now.
Who Killed Asmodean?
Here's my answer! It's quite an obvious answer, when you think of it, just because of one little detail. And didn't RJ say the culprit was obvious?
Well...
*drums*
Davram Bashere.
Why? Well, first of all, I don't like the looks of him. Shows up for no good reason to 'help' Rand, and then practically takes over all battles.
Second, I think Bashere is a Forsaken in disguise. Perhaps Demandred or something. He still needs an identity in Randland.
Third, if you, just for the sake of it, believe Bashere's a Forsaken, that means he can channel, and clear up the mess of a dead body in a matter of seconds.
Fourth, Asmodean recognises the culprit. If he saw Bashere, but not quite in his Bashere-form, that would've scared the hell out of him. The most obvious respond of Bashere seeing someone who recognises him as 'not being Bashere', is to kill him. Am I still making sense?
Finally, and most important, Asmodean dies in a wine cupboard. Bashere, later in the book, comes over to Rand with, guess what, wine! That means he had to have been in de cupboard at the time of the killing!
Pah-dah!
