A time to talk and a time to take action

Ok guys I joined this board to have some serious role playing going on so I will now say this. Since I have been here I have seen a total of 8 people tops posting at any given time. Now after looking through the member sheet we have more than 8 people who are members and yet were are they. Ok there not here because there is no role playing going on. I have started serveral threads trying to fraw people in and still nothing. My ideas might not be the best but its better than just sitting here. I have heard all the talk about getting a story going, but its time to stop talking about it an actually role play. You guys have ideas, and before you throw the whole lives outside of here thing let me say this. I manage to check the boards at least once a day, and I hold down a full time job and go to school. Im usually on here no more than 30 minutes tops. Most of the active people are staff so why cant a good story be started. The only way to get more people active is to show that the board is active. Everything is active except the role playing areas. So come on guys lets get it started.

To put it bluntly, we are lazy. There are a lot of things going on outside the internet and inside.

As for the members thing, people join and don't do anything. *shrugs* That's up to them.

But once I get a new theme down and set to be made, I'll go look for Affiliates and get more RPing done. Plus, I've got to wait until Proboards v4 is released. That is the most important thing. Once it's here there are going to be a lot of changes, trust me.

I think the new skin will help, bu twe will still need other things to help roleplayers along, like quest and from those there characters can grow.

I agree to a certain point, but it makes no excuse for the lack of role playing going on. I mean something is better than nothing. This is the most active board out of all the others I have visted and thats saying alot, but hey your incharge and its your choices that rule the day.

Trust me when I say this. When ProBoards version 4 is released there are going to be changes to the board. The biggest of them all is the color sceme. When that is out of the way, there will be more Affiliating and more posting.

Just hold on, it won't be long.

If you want to start roleplaying, go into the "Waiting Room", look at some examples of the character sheets, and then, basing your's off the examples provided, make your character.

Name: Jakob
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 180 cm (~6' 1")
Eyes: Green
Hair: Brown
Weight: 85 kg (~190 lb)
Description: Tall, lean, thick eyebrows, short hair, all in all looks very young and handsome. A noble, to boot. Strong, quick, smart. Rather cool on the outside but rather compassionate and given to emotion on the inside.
Strengths: Can Channel (Very Strong), but does not know it yet, strengths in Earth, Fire, and Spirit. Excellent sword fighting abilities, confident.
Weaknesses: Has led a soft life. Doesn’t have a clue how to survive in the real world.
Background: Born to a noble Andoran Family, Jakob was trained from birth in the ways of nobility. Showing quickness with both the mind and the sword, he quickly became the favorite of his father, but his older brother was a problem. That small blocking was removed, though, when his brother died in an “unfortunate” hunting accident.

Now poised to inherit the mantle of his father, he is rich, skilled in most everything, and he seems, all in all, a perfect Andoran nobleman. All his skills in politics and swordplay might not matter, though, as he has recently discovered (keeping it a secret) that he is not normal. He can move things just by thinking about them, he can light a candle without even moving for it.

Much as he might abhor to admit it, he might be able to channel, which, would of coure ruin his chances at anything resembling a normal life.

Once you get that done, you either just start roleplaying by making a thread in the forum that your character starts in and just start writing, or you could ask permission from people to join in the RPing in one of the threads that we have created already.

I agree about people needing to respond to the threads. I is ery diffcult to be involved when you have only maybe three people who stay active at least more than two days a week. I would like to get a really good story going but that takes people who are interested and active on the boards.

Well it sounds all good in theory but it will be harder to bring to life.

A dream can only be made to be with dedication, and hard work. Talking will not make your dreams come true.
