Update: Again, don't read if you want to enjoy the book. Poor Rand and his not having a right hand, anymore. And porr people who fould themselves on the recieving end of Mat's two thousand heavy crossbows. And poor people of Malden. This book rocks...

what really erks me is what happens to rand rand when he is tricked and attacked by one of the female forsaken... also the book doest focus as much on rand i think it should he is almost put into the background. o btw i have read the series 5 times lol each time a new one was getting close to relase i will reread the whole shabang

Poor Rand and his not having a right hand, anymore. . i think it was his left hand that he lost... im not 100% but im prety sure it is his left hand that got blasted off i would of pulled a Perrin and cut at lest one of her hands off in return

Oops. That would be a mistake, yes. It was his left hand. I wasn't thinking, there.
My course of action would have been to simply balefire her and get my hand back. But that's just me.

Well if I was Rand, I'd simply hit her with as much as I could possibly shoot. But I like overkill.

Balefire is a solution for most things, I've found. ^^ Oh, and I've finished the book, now. He needs to hurry up and finish A Memory of Light. I must have more WoT.

Umm.. Tony don't read past this point?
Oh my goodness. That was definitely the best book since the earlier ones, in my opinion. Very satisfying. My only issue is....I need the next one! I have to know what happens. CoT left us hanging, but I was kind of disappointed after that one and not looking forward to wading my way through this. I only got it last week otherwise I would have been here sooner. I'm really excited about what's going on with Mat, Tuon "scares the Light out of me," and the girl in me wants Egwene to triumph. Lovely, lovely book. And I wanted to see more of Semirhage! I wonder how Cadsuane will fair with her... I knew they were obviously walking into a trap and couldn't read fast enough! There were several of those "couldn't read fast enough" moments in this book.
Is this thread two weeks past old yet or can I post? I think I only just passed the deadline by a couple days, don't lynch me!

It's good to know I'm not the only one who gets goosebumps during Perrin scenes. I'm currently half way through Fires of Heaven, and the scenes from The Shadow Rising, with the starting of the defense of Two Rivers gave my arms goosebumps for some time.

Fantastic book, fantastic. Jordan redeemed himself from Crossroads.
All I would wish for what a bit more of Rand and what happened to Semihrage after she was captured.
And I want all of you to make water. I must taste it to see if any of you are sick.

Lol. That was kind of...hem...strange of the midwife. Though it'd be great if Jordan could make Elayne a little more...womanly instead of petulant all the time. Yeah, poor Rand loosing his hand. What makes me wonder is why he didn't just balefire her right then and there, he'd have easily gotten his hand back. Anyone think up some reasons?
